Five destination markets, one auditable workflow
Import Duty and Landed Cost Calculators by Country
Customs duty is only one part of landed cost. Compare the code, tax, fee and source requirements for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand before opening the full calculator.
Choose the destination market
The same product can require a different code length, tax base, treatment and official data source in each market. Use the guide for the country where the goods will be imported.

What a landed-cost estimate combines
A useful import estimate begins with verified classification and origin. It then combines customs value, the supported duty treatment, VAT or GST, government fees and the shipment costs entered by the user. ImportSmart keeps those components separate in the result so a rate or fee can be reviewed without reverse-engineering a single total.
The five destinations do not share one universal tax formula. The UK import VAT base, Australian Value of Taxable Importation, Canadian federal GST path, New Zealand levies and U.S. MPF or HMF are handled as destination-specific components.
Why the calculator sometimes stops
Official tariffs contain specific rates, compound formulas, quotas, trade remedies, conditional measures and preferences that cannot be proven from a commodity code alone. ImportSmart stops when required facts are missing instead of converting a complex rate to zero or choosing the most convenient line.
Import duty calculator questions
Is landed cost the same as customs duty?
No. Customs duty is one component. Landed cost can also include VAT or GST, government fees, freight, insurance, brokerage and other shipment costs supplied to the calculator.
Can one HS code be used unchanged in every market?
The first six digits may share an international structure, but national tariff schedules add their own digits, descriptions, measures and statistical suffixes. Use the code required by the destination market.
Does ImportSmart guarantee the customs amount?
No. The result is an estimate for planning. Final liability depends on the customs authority’s accepted classification, origin, valuation, effective measures and the facts of the entry.
